This depends on the specific model. Some models of ours are so far only fully compostable under industrial conditions. Unfortunately, a high proportion of plant material means that especially light-coloured products are more susceptible to discoloration and scratches. When improving our products, we take your customer feedback to heart and have therefore decided to make some colors more resistant. Thus, some models contain TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). Through this we create a longer life and ultimately reduce the consumption of iPhone cases. These can still be recycled in our production! And we have set as a firm goal to develop the best possible and most sustainable materials and hope to soon convert our complete product family to full compostability. You can find the different levels of compostability in the listing below:


Fully compostable cell phone case (100% organic material):

Model: Black, Navy Blue, Midnight Green, Coral Pink, Purple Blue, Mint Green, Citrus Yellow

Ingredients: PLA, Straw, Wheat. The material is free of BPA, lead, cadmium, phthalates and REACH certified!

Good to know: Please note that the decomposition time for home and industrial composting varies greatly and also depends on the nature of the compost site. Therefore, it can take anywhere from six months to two years for your case to compost. However, you can also just send it back to us and we will recycle it for you!


Recyclable Cell Phone Case (Partially Compostable/ 50% Organic Material):

Model: Wine Red

Ingredients: PLA, straw, wheat, TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). The material is free of BPA, lead, cadmium, phthalates and REACH certified!

Good to know: Even our cases that are not fully compostable can be completely recycled in our production process and thus recycled for new products! Instead of disposing of the case, just send it back to us and we'll recycle it for you, saving you 30%.


Note: Since PLA is made of polylactic acid, you may notice a light film (smears) appearing on your organic case especially after a long period of non-use. Don't be alarmed - this is a completely natural reaction of the organic material and can be wiped off quite easily. Please also note that for the composting process (for the 100% organic cases) the inner lining in the iPhone case must be pulled out (see also insert sheet)!

Through our innovative organic material, we can recycle your used iPhone case in production and reuse almost completely! With your help we can thus conserve important raw materials, save energy costs, produce more sustainably and create new products! Since our cell phone cases are made from plant materials and straw residues can come to natural, small deviations in the look and texture. Also, since we deliberately avoid synthetic fabrics, the organic case may develop a patina over time. Both are a clear sign of authenticity and use of organic materials.
